Steel Frame Systems (SFS), Dry Lining, Suspended Ceilings, Plastering

It was a pleasure to partner with Stepnell on the extension at Bishop Vesey Grammar School in Sutton Coldfield. We are appointed to install the SFS, internal partitions, dry lining and plastering along with acoustic and timer baffles.

The new £6.2m two-storey Learning Resource Centre extension will provide a modern library, additional teaching spaces, an enlarged dining area, and dedicated social and study zones for sixth form students. Designed with flexibility in mind, the new facilities will support collaboration and interaction throughout the school day and will also be avaliable for use by local businesses and community groups outside school hours.

Carefully planned to work with the site’s natural tiered landscape, the building features a facade that blends seamlessly with the existing school architecture. Founded in 1527, the grammar school is one of the oldest in Britain and is now approaching its 500th anniversary.

This significant investment will enhance the campus with contemporary, high-quality facilities, expand sixth form capacity, and create opportunities for senistive refurbishment across the wider school, helping to secure its legacy for generations to come.
