Last Friday marked a proud moment for the University of Gloucestershire as The Princess Royal officially opened the new City Campus in Gloucester!
Her Royal Highness unveiled a commemorative plaque and signed the visitors’ book, celebrating the transformation of the former Debehams and Bon Marche site into a cutting edge centre for teaching, learning and community services.
A special highlight of the day saw Edna Lee, who dedicated 64 years to Debenhams, present The Princess Royal with a posy bouquet, joined by fellow former staff members to witness the building’s new chapter.
During a guided tour led by Vice Chancellor Clare Marchant DBE, The Princess Royal met with students, academic teams, and members of the local community to explore the campus’s innovative facilities.
A wonderful milestone for the University, the city and everyone who contributed to bringing this vision to life.
